The Tiny Powerhouses Taking Over Our Autumn Garden!
Tiny but mighty—
cucamelons are stealing the show this season!
Autumn is in full swing, and our garden is bursting with an incredible variety of seasonal produce. The classics—pumpkin, corn, and zucchini—are thriving and making their way onto our menu, especially in our sides. But there’s one little gem that’s growing faster than we can use… cucamelons!
If you haven’t met these bite-sized beauties before, they look like miniature watermelons but have the crisp, refreshing bite of a cucumber with a subtle citrus twist. Native to North America, they’ve taken a real liking to our Australian climate, growing in abundance and keeping us on our toes with how to use them all!
Right now, we’re making the most of them fresh in various dishes and pickling them for a tangy treat. They’re crunchy, refreshing, and a little bit addictive—so if you haven’t tried cucamelons yet, you’re seriously missing out!
